Outpatient Behavioral Health (OPBH) Contracted Agencies Only
September 02, 2011
Attention: Outpatient Behavioral Health (OPBH) Contracted Agencies Only
(This communication does not apply to private practitioners: LBHP or Psychologists)
RE: Under supervision for licensure is now available as a selection in the LBHP provider enrollment application for OPBH contracted agency staff
Effective on 10/1/2011, the individual rendering provider number will be required on all OPBH agency claims submitted to the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority.
To prepare for this change, individual staff members or an authorized representative need to complete an individual provider enrollment application with the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority. Once the individual provider enrollment application has been successfully processed, the individual staff will be assigned an individual SoonerCare provider number. The assignment of the individual Soonercare provider number will allow the agency to submit claims for the services rendered by the individual staff which will be a requirement on all OPBH agency claims submitted on 10/1/11 and after.

There are two types of individual provider enrollment applications for the OPBH agency staff. The OPBH agency staff will need to complete only one of these application types:
- Licensed Behavioral Health Professional (LBHP). This type of application includes both the fully licensed professionals, and also, the Behavioral Health Professional who is under supervision for licensure. The under supervision for licensure is now available as a selection in the list of LBHP choices.
- Paraprofessionals which includes RNs, BHRS, CADC, CM II and I, and others. (Please note: SoonerCare compensation for paraprofessional’s services is only allowable under the OPBH agency contract. Paraprofessionals are not permitted to individually contract with the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority.)
Webinar trainings will be hosted by the OHCA and ODMHSAS to review two major changes for OPBH contracted agencies: rendering requirement on the claim, and the assignment of a Master PA ID for the OPBH agency. These changes will go into effect on October 1, 2011 and apply only to OPBH agencies. (This training does not pertain to private practitioners, LBHPs or psychologists.)
