Outpatient Request Turnaround Timeline Delay

August 11, 2010

Due to the ongoing increased volume of calls due to the new LBHP/Psychologist process and increased number of requests related to the implementation of the Consolidated Claims Processing System, we continue to be delayed in processing outpatient requests requiring manual review, including the Private LBHP requests.

The current turnaround is approximately nine to twelve business days. Staff is working overtime and we are recruiting for licensed behavioral health clinicians to contract with APS to get thru the backlog.

If you would like for more of your electronically submitted requests (CareConnection or EDI) to automatically authorize thus avoiding delays, please review the document, How to Improve Chances for Auto-Authorization.

We apologize for the delay and recognize the inconvenience this is causing.
